How to Read Your New-Mac Bill

Your New-Mac bill should arrive at about the same time each month. The bill will clearly show your electric usage, measured in kilowatt-hours, as well as the amount you owe. The cooperative gauges your usage by reading your electric meter once a month. In some special instances from time to time, reading your meter may not be feasible. If this is the case, your usage will be estimated based on past usage levels and your bill will have wording to that effect.

The sample statement shown below has been coded to identify the various items found on your bill. Descriptions of each item are as follows:

1. Name and Address: The mailing address where the bill was sent.
2. Your Location Number: This is the number located on your meter pole. Please have this number ready when calling in outages. (Someone is available 24 hrs. a day.)
3. Your Customer Number: Use this number when calling on billing inquiries.
4. Total Amount Due: Includes current bill and any balances or credits from preceding month.
5. Amount Due after Due Date: This amount includes a $15.00 late charge. All payments must be received in the office by the date due. (Due date is always last day of month.)
6. Past and Present Comparison on Usage
7. Current Billing Information: Includes dates of meter readings, KWH usage, taxes and miscellaneous charges.
8. Delinquent Amount Information
9. Monthly Messages
10. Questionnaire Portion
